Is there a fix for this? >> i guess the only fix for it, kendis, is if legislatures retool the self-defense law because right now it's an extremely high burden. once there has been some evidence introduced at trial that a defendant may have acted in self-defense, it's up to the prosecutor to disprove self-defense beyond a reasonable doubt, and that's a real challenge as we just saw play out in the rittenhouse case. i've heard defense attorneys a hundred times make an argument that goes something like this. ladies and gentlemen of the jury, you may think my client is guilty, but that means you ...
