– PWInsider reports that Leon Ruff is doing OK after he took a rough bump off the top rope on last night’s NXT. During the tag team match with KUSHIDA against Johnny Gargano and Austin Theory, Ruff appeared to lose his footing when attempting a high risk move off the top rope to the floor. It Ruff then flipped off the top and hit the ring floor back first and appeared to have a rough landing. You can see a clip of the spot in question below. It happens about 54 seconds in.

NXT's Dexter Lumis Hosting New Year's Evil ✖ Tonight's NXT revealed two of the big matches set for New Year's Evil and set some of the other events in motion to fill out the card. That said, tonight also revealed who would be the host of the upcoming event, and whoever it was would have to follow Shotzi Blackheart's fantastic work as host of Halloween Havoc. That shouldn't be a problem though, as it was revealed that Dexter Lumis that would be host of the upcoming 2021 kickoff event, and he even created some of his trademark art to celebrate the announcement.

NXT Champion Finn Balor's challenger for New Year's Evil will be decided tonight. A number one contender's match between Kyle O'Reilly and Pete Dunne will take place on tonight's episode of NXT. The winner will challenge Balor at NXT New Year's Evil on Wednesday, January 6. WWE has announced that tonight's O'Reilly vs. Dunne match will have uninterrupted bell-to-bell action. O'Reilly, Dunne, Damian Priest, and Scarlett all confronted Balor last week. Balor told Scarlett to tell Karrion Kross that whenever he's ready, Balor's ready.
