Canada plans to welcome 465,000 new permanent residents in 2023. Subsequent years are anticipated to witness even higher figures, with 485,000 new permanent residents in 2024 and 500,000 in 2025, resulting in a combined total of 1.45 million immigrants to Canada over the span of these three years.
Canada experienced a decline in immigration for the third consecutive month, with 34,925 new permanent residents in August, a 14.1% decrease from July. However, the cumulative data for the first eight months of the year shows Canada is still on track to achieve a record-breaking number of new permanent residents by the end of the year.
