  Leonard Clyde Coats was born April 9, 1972 in Memphis, TN the son of James Ronald and the late Shelvy Wadkins Coats. He was united in marriage to Danica Boyle Griffith on March 16, 2013. Leonard was a 1990 graduate of Central High School in Memphis. While in high school he played saxophone in the band and traveled to Dublin, Ireland to participate in the 500th anniversary of St. Patrick’s Cathedral, where he served as drum major for the parade.
