'Get out now' — Evacuees describe Flathead Lake fire
SKYLAR RISPENS Portia Fleming fell asleep on the couch at her home at Finley Point Estates watching a movie Saturday night, only to be awakened by her daughter warning of the Boulder 2700 fire nearing their property. As she approached her window, she saw the fire burning just east of her home. Ash fell from the night sky, settling like soft snow on the ground outside. Fleming sprang into action and got dressed before heading to the nearby fire department for an update. She arrived at the fire department around 11:20 p.m. and was told she didnât need to evacuate yet.
