Ottawa throwing out the original O-Train Bombardier trains

OTTAWA
The original O-Train vehicles will soon be taken apart and thrown out.
The city of Ottawa has issued a tender looking for a company to dismantle and dispose of the three Bombardier Talent Trainsets after being unable to find a buyer.
The city was unable to establish a contract for the disposal of the trainsets, said Will McDonald, Chief Procurement Officer at the city of Ottawa.
The city purchased the three Bombardier Talent trains for $17.7 million.
McDonald says the city is looking to award the contract to dismantle and dispose of the three trains to the highest revenue generating bid. ....

Belleville, Ont. woman completes 40,000 piece puzzle in record time

BELLEVILLE, ONT.
A Belleville, Ont. woman has put together one of the largest puzzles in the world in what she believes is record time.
The Ravensburger Memorial Disney Moments Puzzle has 40,320 pieces. The company says it is one of the largest puzzles in the world, as listed by Guinness World Records, due to the number of pieces and size.
Maxine Olive completed the puzzle in 150 hours.
Ravensburger says the average should take about 600, the last known record was 423 hours, Olive tells CTV News Ottawa.
The giant puzzle features 10 hand-drawn scenes from iconic Disney films including; Snow White, Fantasia, Dumbo, Bambi, Cinderella, Peter Pan, The Jungle Book, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King. ....

OPP says 13-year-old boy facing charges for stealing car, leading police on a chase in Belleville area

OTTAWA
Ontario Provincial Police say a 13-year-old eastern Ontario boy is facing charges after leading officers on a car chase through the Belleville and Trenton areas.
Quinte West OPP officers responded to a report of a possible impaired driver on Dundas Street East in Trenton at approximately 10 p.m. Thursday.
Officers located the vehicle on Dundas Street West near Avondale Road in Belleville, but the driver refused to stop. Police say officers ended the pursuit for public safety reasons.
A short time later, the suspect vehicle was spotted by officers driving at a high rate of speed southbound on Wallbridge Loyalist Road. ....

Seven cases of COVID-19 reported at Ottawa physical distancing centre this week

Four security guards, an employee and two clients at a city of Ottawa physical distancing centre have tested positive for COVID-19
In memos to council, Community and Social Services General Manager Donna Gray outlines the COVID-19 cases at the Nicholas Street Physical Distancing Centre.
On Friday, Gray said one security guard from Commissaires Security Guards and one employee had tested positive for COVID-19. Both the security guard and the employee last worked at the site on Feb. 22 and are currently in self-isolation.
On Thursday, Gray informed council that three security guards from Commissaires Security Guards and two clients had tested positive. The security guards last worked between Feb. 16 and 22. ....
