Coronavirus UPDATE: 5k travel limit lifted, all students return to school, non essential construction resumes

Israel, Albania and St. Lucia have been taken off the list that requires mandatory hotel quarantine
The five kilometre travel limit has been lifted, with people free to travel within their county or 20 kilometres from their home.
It s one of the Level 5 restrictions being eased, as well as
two households being allowed to meet outside - but not in private gardens.
All students will return to schools for the first time in 2021 also today.
Junior Education Minister Josepha Madigan says getting schools back is what the Government has been working towards:

Suspects arrested as part of Garda operation targeting Organised Crime released without charge

A file will now be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
Gardaí have released without charge the two men arrested on suspicion of money laundering, following raids on 10 locations in Duleek, Trim and Dublin on Saturday.
The operation involved members of the Garda National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau and the Criminal Assets Bureau, who were supported by the Garda Dog Unit and the Stolen Motor Vehicle Unit.
A total of €60,000 in cash and one kilo of cannabis resin with an estimated street value of €20,000 were seized along with four high-value vehicles and a quantity of jewellery. ....

Ashley Cain gives heartbreaking update on baby Azaylia

Ex On The Beach star Ashley Can has given another heartbreaking update on his beautiful eight-month-old daughter who was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of leukaemia.
Last night, Ashley took to his Instagram story to reveal that he had to rush his baby Azaylia back to the hospital after she started to bleed from her nose. He said that he had demanded a platelet transfusion for the eight-month-old, who now has several tumours.
Baby Azaylia, who was diagnosed with the rare and aggressive form of leukaemia, was brought home from hospital last week after doctors told Ashley and his partner Safiyya the devastating news that her treatments were no longer working and that Azaylia had just days to live.  ....

Covid-19: No further deaths; 394 new cases with 17 in Meath and 5 in Louth


There have been 394 new cases of Covid-19 notified to the Department of Health.
No further deaths linked to the virus have been reported.
Of the cases reported today, 175 were recorded in Dublin, with 34 in Kildare, 21 in Galway, 21 in Mayo and 20 in Limerick.
The remaining 123 cases are spread across 18 other counties, including 17 new infections diagnosed in Meath.
There have been less than five new cases confirmed in Louth.
It brings the cumulative number of known cases in the Republic to 241,330 while the country s death toll now stands at 4,785.
As of 8am today, 227 people were being treated for the virus in hospital. ....

Two people have been taken to hospital following a two car collision in mid Louth.
It happened at Carnalogue outside Louth village shortly before 8.30am.
Fire and rescue personnel from Dundalk attended the scene.
