Marathi news channel Lokshahi went off air on Tuesday evening after the channel reportedly failed to submit certain documents relating to its operations.
In a statement issued on Tuesday night, the channel's management said it will be approaching the court against the suspension and hopeful that it will get justice.
Lokshahi editor Kamlesh Sutar said, “We will fight the matter legally. We will seek legal recourse and are currently in consultation with our legal experts.”
Police have invoked relevant sections of the Information Technology (IT) Act and Indian Penal Code Section 500 (punishment for defamation), and launched an investigation.
