A livestock carrier ship is experiencing engine difficulties while at Port Taranaki. Ocean Ute docked at Port Taranaki on March 5 and was meant to leave for China with a shipment of up to 4500 cows on March 9. But the 139-metre-long vessel has been unable to depart after one of its engines needed repairing. “The Ocean Ute has remained at Port Taranaki this week while repairs to one engine have been carried out,” a Port Taranaki media spokesperson said through email.
