When it comes to custom vehicles, Texas has been a heavy hitter for quite some time. As far as new truck sales numbers go, no other place compares to the Lone Star State and that translates into more custom versions that can be found there. Texas has been a go-to stop for seeing some of the wildest trucks, and this goes for both new and classic versions.
Back in 2012, Todd “Radar” Hendrex and Lonnie Ford saw the need for a three-day show and came up with the idea of the Lone Star Throwdown (LST), which continues to be held at the very same venue, the Montgomery County Fairgrounds in Conroe, TX. The first year was a hit and the event has grown every year since the beginning.

Just make a bowl of popcorn, and sit back with your family and enjoy Pendragon Theatre’s online production of “The Best Holiday TV Special That Never Aired” at 7 p.m. now through Dec. 31. I promise you that it will be the best $14 you’ve ever spent for a show. As Lonnie Ford pronounced, “It’s a bit nostalgic, eclectic and sometimes absurd! Something for everyone!” From Fran Yardley’s Funny Family Whiskey Fruitcake recipe to Matt Sorenson crooning all parts of a Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons (Jersey Boys) holiday medley to Kent Streed appearing Forrest Gump style in many historic events, I haven’t laughed so hard in quite a while.

(Photo provided) SARANAC LAKE Pendragon Theatre has furloughed three staff members, cut back on work for two subcontractors and will temporarily halt operations as it contends with financial hardship brought on by the coronavirus pandemic. The nonprofit community theater, its performers and staff have entertained Saranac Lakers for more than 40 years. Board President Lonnie Ford said the decision was “taken for the survival of the Pendragon Theatre.”
