OXFORD — An investigation by the state produced criminal charges against a former Granville County sheriff’s deputy, who’s now the second member of the office facing prosecution. The former deputy, Chad Coffey, faces counts of obstruction of justice, three counts of conspiracy to deliver cocaine, two counts of embezzlement by a public officer and two counts of altering, destroying or stealing evidence of criminal conduct.
