A woman is seeking answers after the sick dog she took to a shelter to have euthanized turned up more than a year later on a rescue adoption site. Kristie Pereira says she adopted a 2-month-old hound mix in 2022 from Lost Dog & Cat Rescue in Maryland. Within weeks, it was ill, diagnosed with a likely severe neurological disease. Weeks later after consulting three veterinarians and the rescue, she took the puppy to Montgomery County Animal Services. She paid $15 for it to be euthanized.
