See the mild trend return, but the northeast and parts of the midwest really in store for, let s call it festive weather, seasonal weather here. temps about upper 40s out of detroit today, chicago 50 degrees. the trend as we approach thanksgiving day drops into the close to freezing mark range. and mostly sunny skies in new york city on thanksgiving day. we ll go with about 45 degrees for the afternoon high. guys? all right, a chilly morning for that parade. let s get a check on cnn money stream this morning. global stock markets starting the week mostly lower. last week, the dow and the s&p 500 had their first two-week losing streak since august! a little bit of a setback on tax reform, specifically concerns that tax cuts won t pass by the end of the year. hopes for tax reform has helped lift stocks to record highs. the dow fell 100 points friday, led by walmart. it was down more than 2%. you might recall that its shares hit an all-time high thursday on strong quarterly earnings, ....
Side of the aisle talking about bad numbers, will this be a changing point? it really needs to be. there are a lot of alarming numbers in these pools for the white house. some of the most significant ones, noncollege educated whites are now negative on the president. that s never happened before, that s big for a part of his base. older americans have now increased their negative ratings. both of these groups, by the way, would have been adversely affected by any of the three health care proposals that the president got behind. i m not sure if that s the reason or if because repeal and replace didn t pass, but he s got to put some points up on the board, particularly with his base he was now eroding. that s what caused the drop from 39, 40% now down into the lower ....
Wind. in caribou, 8 below zero. high temperatures get up to the lower 30s in new york city and washington. this time, a couple weeks ago, we were talking about the 70s across the region. take a look at jacksonville, florida. december 29th, 83 degrees. in the 80s in the last couple days of 2015. since then, temperatures cooling off 30 degrees with the high now into the mid-50s and 60 degrees. again, a short lived pattern. look at the cold air exit. thursday into friday, mild weather sets in. notice a sign of cooler air filtering in. by saturday and sunday and into next week, some of the coldest weather in several years for portions of the northern plains and upper midwest. some areas could be 15 to 25 below average. look at minneapolis. from 32 to 34 down to high temperatures that would struggle to get up above zero by this weekend. pedram, thank you. ....
Of course, minneapolis takes the cake with 30s, 20s and now a high of 8 degrees fahrenheit later this afternoon and when they normally should be into the lower 30s. we re going to warm up a little by tuesday and wednesday but bundle up for today temperatures in the single digits. dallas seeing cool temperatures and chicago, as well with the cold temperatures. that s the story here. but st. louis, if you re happening to be watching from there we do have icing ongoing, the pink on the radar depicting ice falling on the roads. that is a mess for a morning commute so be careful. likely to be crashes. then the big story over the next few day, california, how about rain, a lot of it. to 3 inches with this big storm that s going to take its time moving on in and desperately need the rain and will get a whole lot of it over the next couple of days. yes, anything they can get. it ll take ail while. thanks, ivan. well, okay, travel woes and ....
