(Screenshot from BCDA website) MANILA - The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) is inviting investors to look into opportunities in New Clark City as the agency's biggest land development is positioned to be the next top tourist destination in Luzon. In a statement Thursday, BCDA senior vice president Joshua Bingcang said the agency is open to tourism investments in New Clark City both from foreign and local firms. "Given its strategic location, rich biodiversity and vast open spaces, it is the perfect place for eco-theme parks and ecotourism projects," he said. Taiwan locators urged to invest in Northern, Central Luzon

MANILA - The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) is inviting Taiwanese businesses to set up their operations in Northern and Central Luzon, particularly at the Poro Point Freeport Zone and in New Clark City. In a statement Monday, the BCDA said the agency has been engaging with Taiwan-based enterprises to look into expanding in Luzon due to the location's proximity to Taiwan. "[Poro Point Freeport and Special Economic Zone] is actually the nearest property to Taiwan. In fact, it's just a stone's throw away from Taiwan and Xiamen, with Poro Point having an airport, a seaport, and tourism and a recreation/gaming complex, making it ideal for Taiwan locators," BCDA Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Aileen Anunciacion Zosa said in a recent meeting with Taiwanese businesses. HEADING into its final year in office, the government will have tweaked the “Build, Build, Build” (BBB) program multiple times to favor those projects with the best chance of being even partially completed before President Rodrigo R. Duterte steps down.
Starting with 75 big-ticket projects at its launch in 2017, the P8.4-trillion flagship infrastructure program was meant to address the Philippines’ lack of competitiveness because of bad roads, transportation, and crippling road traffic that made Metro Manila a difficult place to live for its residents, much less investors.
But the project list was subjected to three revisions in four years, entailing several rounds of feasibility reassessment. The result was that some projects were omitted and other more “shovel-ready” projects added to the list, ultimately expanding it to over 104. The Nation ....
