For those looking to get away and hit the beach, there s one area in the Nueces County area to avoid.
Portions of the Corpus Christi Ship Channel South Jetty off Aransas Pass will close for weeks to repair damages caused by Hurricane Harvey in 2017, according to a news release from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District.
The closure is expected to begin on April 12 and last through Memorial Day weekend (May 31). The area of the jetty that will be closed first will extend from the beach toward the Gulf, Lynda R. Yezzi-Valentine, chief of public affairs for the corps office in Galveston, told Port Aransas South Jetty.
