Duo including ex-govt dept head claim trial to false claim charge

SEREMBAN: Two individuals, including a former government department head, claimed trial at the Sessions Court here to a charge of making a false claim.
Former Negri Sembilan and Melaka Orang Asli Department director Haslin Abdul Razak, 46, and businessman Mohd Irwan Redzuan Abdullah, 44, pleaded not guilty when the charge was read to them before judge Madihah Harullah.
The duo had allegedly submitted a claim of RM15,000 to the department for food and drinks for an event with the Orang Asli community at Bukit Payung in Melaka when in actual fact the event did not take place.

Man claims trial to money laundering charges involving RM209,000


Wong Tze Wei pleaded not guilty after the charges were read to him before judge Madihah Harullah.
He was charged with laundering the money belonging to Great Five Development Sdn Bhd between Feb 2 and March 3,2016.
He allegedly committed the offences at the company's premises.
Wong was charged under section 4(1)(b) of the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities 2001.
Offenders can be jailed up to 15 years and fined five times the amount of the illegal proceeds or RM5mil, whichever is higher.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Rohaiza Zainal then urged the court to fix bail at RM100,000 for each charge.

SEREMBAN: A former housing development company manager today pleaded not guilty to 16 counts of money laundering involving RM209,000 in the Seremban Sessions Court here today.
Wong Tze Wei, 47, entered the plea after the charges were read out to him before Judge Madihah Harullah.
He was charged with disposing proceeds believed to be ill gotten gains through payment vouchers belonging to the company.
The offences were allegedly committed between Feb 2, 2016 and March 30, 2016 at Great Five Development Sdn Bhd, No 56M Level 2, Jalan Era Square 4, Seremban.

Manager charged with making false claims for wage subsidy

SEREMBAN: A 39-year-old human resources manager has claimed trial at the Sessions Court here to a charge of submitting a false claim involving RM6,000 for the government’s wage subsidy programme.Wong Siow Yen pleaded not guilty to the charge before judge Madihah Harullah yesterday.
She allegedly committed the offence on April 9 last year at YTG Logistic and Trading Sdn Bhd in Gemas.
The accused had allegedly submitted the names of five employees to the Social Security Organisation (Socso) although they were not entitled to the subsidy amounting to RM6,000.
