Indictments handed down last week

EDWARDSVILLE An Alton man previously charged with multiple counts relating to the long-term sexual assault and abuse of a child was indicted on those charges last week.
Kenneth W. Withrow, 38, of the 700 block of Reuter Street, Alton, was indicted on two counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child, both enhanced Class X felonies; five counts of criminal sexual abuse, all class 1 felonies; and one count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, a Class 2 felony.
There were some changes in the indictments from the original charges, including increasing the two most serious charges to enhanced Class X felonies. ....
