Gunmen suspected to be terrorists on Wednesday, attacked Sabon Gida in Magami District of Gusau Local Government Area of Zamfara State, killing its traditional ruler, Alhaji Muhd Abdu and one other person.   The community is located a few kilometres from Gusau, the capital of Zamfara.   SaharaReporters gathered that the attackers invaded the community around 5:30 am when residents were performing morning prayers and unleashed mayhem on them.   It was however learnt that the villagers also killed four of the terrorists in reprisal.

There is tension currently in the camp of the Joint Security Task Force in Magami District, Gusau Local Government Area of Zamfara State over an alleged assault of a police Inspector by a Nigerian Army Major. The joint security forces comprising mobile police and the military were posted to the community to fight against bandits and terrorists ravaging the state. A source told SaharaReporters that the camp had witnessed multiple clashes between personnel of the two security agencies.
