Accused pleads for compassion Article by March 10, 2021 Dropping to his knees in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court today a 41-year-old man begged for leniency even though he also declared “I know nothing of the incident. Honest to God”. Accused Thomas Andrew Bailey, of no fixed place of abode, was addressing Magistrate Alison Burke as he made reference to three criminal charges levelled against him most of which allegedly took place last year. Bailey is charged with entering Vashti Inniss Empowerment building as a trespasser, between October 21 and 22, 2020 and stealing a grocery list of items including potatoes, macaroni, sugar, rice, flour, chowmein, box juices, cornmeal, oats, eggs, milk, tuna and tea bags. The goods totalled $120.21 and belonged to the HIV Food Bank. ....
Firearm, drugs charges before court Article by December 17, 2020 Gun and marijuana charges against a delivery man landed him on remand at HMP Dodds today for the next 28 days. Dorian Lee Patrick, of No. 15 Harbour View, Pinelands, St Michael appeared before Magistrate Alison Burke today charged with having a firearm on December 14 when he was not the holder of a licence. The 27-year-old is also accused of having six rounds of ammunition in his possession on the same day without having the necessary permit as well as possession and cultivation of cannabis. The charges against Patrick are indictable and as such he could not enter any pleas in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court. ....
