Nashik: At least 224 hectare of land is required to construct the section of 235.25 km-long Pune-Nashik semi high-speed railway track, which is being built by Maharashtra Rail Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited .
The district administration has announced the land acquisition process, will be carried out in the 23 villages across Nashik and Sinnar talukas. After which, the track will cross the district boundaries to the Ahmednagar district.
The special land acquisition officer (SLAO), Nashik, will carry out the process of land acquisition by negotiating with the farmers, who will be affected by the track. “We have published the notification about the government intending to acquire the land in some of the villages in Nashik taluka for the proposed railway track, that will pass through two talukas in the district,” said deputy collector Vasanti Mali, who is the SLAO. ....
