Retail sector must look for innovative ways to attract customers

Muscat: Retailers have been asked to look for creative ways to attract customers to help them generate business and stay afloat during the COVID-19 pandemic.
With many shops in the country closing during the pandemic, some did make the transition to online shopping, while those companies that already had e-commerce operations paid more attention to them, said Maimunah Al Shebani, a board member of the Middle East Council of Shopping Centres.
“The long-term impacts of COVID-19 and the economic slowdown on the retail market remain to be seen,” she said.

Muscat: The late His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said bin Taimour and his achievements for Oman will continue to live long in our hearts, say Omanis in the country.
10 January, 2021 will mark one year of the passing of the late His Majesty, who placed Oman firmly on the path of progress when he ascended to the throne in 1970.
Younis bin Ali Al Mandhari, the head of the Youth and Human Resources Committee of the Majlis Al Shura, said the late His Majesty did plenty to build a modern nation and set Oman on the path of Blessed Renaissance. “Our late Sultan built a country based on laws and institutions,” he said.
