glitches. wendell goler has that part of the story tonight. four years after the president signed the affordable care act, the final day for enrollment arrived with computer problems reminiscent of the website's rollout last fall. a bug took hours longer to fix than the scheduled early morning maintenance window. a last-day crush of people trying to enroll overloaded the website in the afternoon. and another glitch on the white house countdown clock told people they had another two weeks left to sign up. not quite true, though officials say if people are trying to enroll and they don't make the midnight deadline, they won't be penalized. >> just like when you vote on election day, if you're in line and the polls close, you get to vote. >> still, moody's investors service declared this latest in a series of extensions or waivers credit negative for insurers because it will likely lead to higher premium rates in 2015, and critics say it's par for the course. >> this is pretty much baked in the cake. this is four years in the making. this wasn't a surprise.

hhs says that problem has now been resolved. the data hub that verifies identities was always working and so were functions at the website for users with existing accounts as well as some features like window shopping. this morning, though, another software bug required another set of repairs, and that required hhs to extend their regularly scheduled maintenance window later than they would have liked. that problem, though, fixed as well. there is another issue with the website, though, for users trying to get on right now. too much traffic. if you click log in at the top of the home page at healthcare.gov, more often than not today, so far at least, a page has popped up notifying visitors that there are just a lot of people on the site right now and there's a prompt asking users to enter an e-mail address so that administrators can forward you an invitation to return to the site when it is ready and able to handle your traffic. earlier today, i entered my e-mail, and it took four hours
