Guwahati, Feb 18 (IANS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said that with the launching of a huge number of connectivity projects, Assam and the northeast region would emerge as the hub of East-Asia.
The Prime Minister said that Assam and northeast region would further strengthen the initiative for "Aatmnirbhar Bharat".
Launching the 'Mahabahu-Brahmaputra' Ro-Pax vessel operations, laying the foundation stone of the Dhubri Phulbari Bridge and performing the Bhumi Pujan for construction of Majuli Bridge in Assam through videoconferencing, the Prime Minister said these projects would boost the more reliable, efficient and time saving connectivity and help to further widen the tourism and improve economy.

Guwahati, Feb 18 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said that with the launching of a huge number of connectivity projects, Assam and the northeast region would emerge as the hub of East-Asia.
The Prime Minister said that Assam and northeast region would further strengthen the initiative for "Aatmnirbhar Bharat".
Launching the 'Mahabahu-Brahmaputra' Ro-Pax vessel operations, laying the foundation stone of the Dhubri Phulbari Bridge and performing the Bhumi Pujan for construction of Majuli Bridge in Assam through videoconferencing, the Prime Minister said these projects would boost the more reliable, efficient and time saving connectivity and help to further widen the tourism and improve economy.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday (18 February) launched ‘Mahabahu-Brahmaputra’ initiative and laid the foundation stone of two bridges in Assam.
To mark the launch of the Mahabhau-Brahmaputra initiative, which aims to increase connectivity in the eastern states, PM Modi inaugurated the Ro-Pax vessel operations between Neamati-Majuli Island, North Guwahati-South Guwahati and Dhubri-Hatsingimari.
He also laid the foundation stone of Inland Water Transport (IWT) Terminal at Jogighopa and various tourist jetties on river Brahmaputra and launched digital solutions for Ease-of-Doing-Business.
According to a PIB release, the Mahabhau-Brahmputra programme is aimed at providing seamless connectivity to the eastern parts of India and includes various development activities for the people living around River Brahmaputra and River Barak.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the National Association of Software and Service Companies (NASSCOM)`s Technology and Leadership Forum (NTLF) at 12:30 pm via video conferencing here on Wednesday.
The 29th edition of NTLF is being organised from February 17-19. It is the flagship event of the National Association of Software and Service Companies (NASSCOM). The theme of this year`s event is `Shaping the future towards a better normal`.
The Prime Minister`s Office (PMO) release said the event will host 1,600 participants from more than 30 countries and more than 30 products will be showcased during three days.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the ‘Mahabahu Brahmaputra’ project in Assam. The PM will also lay the foundation stone of Dhubri-Phulbari Bridge and perform Bhumi Pujan for construction of Majuli Bridge Assam on 18th February 2021 at 12 noon via video conferencing.
The programme also includes
shilanyas (foundation stone-laying)
 for construction of tourist jetties at four locations, namely, Neamati, Biswanath Ghat, Pandu and Jogighopa with the financial assistance of Rs. 9.41 crores from the Ministry of Tourism. These jetties will promote river cruise tourism, generate local employment and also generate growth for local business.
