CANTON TWP.  Township officials are looking to pay $8,500 to the Ohio Fire Chiefs Association to assist in the selection of a new fire chief. Richard Morabito has been acting chief of the Fire Department since the departure of Christopher Smith, who accepted a job in Alaska earlier this year. "We are spending some money on some professionals to help in the search," Trustee Christopher Nichols said. "They are a little more qualified at it than we are."
