Road improvements near the city s new Community Justice Campus will look to fix what some in the neighborhood call dysfunction junction.  
The current X-shaped intersection of Southeastern Avenue and English Avenue is right next to other intersections with South Rural Street, South Oxford Street and Twin Aire Drive.
David Bacon is the pastor of New Vision Missionary Baptist Church off English Avenue, about a mile-and-a-half east of the planned road work. He s familiar with the intersection s current moniker.
It’s dysfunction junction, he said.  It is.
Bacon said back-to-back stoplights and sharp turns can make it difficult to navigate. While he said he hasn t seen a crash there himself, he has heard of them. In what is either an example of the intersection s peculiarity or just unfortunate timing, a Google Street View camera captured a crash in the intersection when driving by in August 2019. ....
