Update: Devils Nook reopened
Kempsey Shire Council Council has reopened the Devils Nook landslip site on Armidale Road to one lane of traffic after successfully clearing the site this week. Council engaged specialist contractors to assist in clearing large fallen rocks and debris from the site using earthmoving equipment on Monday and Tuesday. The works were undertaken after severe weather caused the slip to give way, pushing large amounts of rocks into the barriers installed to protect the road. Due to the vulnerability of the site, Council was forced to close the road every night at 6pm for the safety of the community....
