The Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) Managing Director Rashid Salim has issued a memo to workers asking them to end campaigns to avoid disruption of work especially at the terminal. It is at the terminal where loading and off-loading of cargo takes place. “Last Monday, the MD wrote a memo to workers directing them to minimise campaigns at the port to avoid disruption of work at the facility,” said KPA Senior Communication Officer Hajji Masemo. ....
THE STANDARD BUSINESS The Ugandan government has commended Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) for the port infrastructural improvements, which have contributed to faster handling of cargo. Speaking during a visit to KPA offices in Mombasa on Tuesday, Paul Mukumbya, the new Uganda Consul General observed that the Port of Mombasa was slowly scaling the heights of excellence. Julius Rubagumya, the Uganda Revenue Authority Assistant Commissioner, Customs External Operations, also said the port was in a better state than before.
