Singer DBanj Arrested and Detained Over Allegations Of Fraud
Some top government officials introduced over 70,000 ghost workers into the N-Power Programme and fraudulently diverted billions of naira into their pockets, SaharaReporters has gathered. The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission on Tuesday detained music star, Oladapo Oyebanji, popularly known as D’banj, over the alleged diversion of N-Power funds in collaboration with some government officials.
The ICPC says the investigation of D'banj will be all-encompassing and that his alleged collaborators are being probed as well.
The Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC) has said that popular musician, Oladipo Daniel Oyebanjo, popularly known as D'Banj, was arrested over a fraud allegation linked with the N-Power Programme. In a statement issued by Mrs. Azuka Ogugua, the ICPC's spokeswoman, the ICPC revealed that D'Banj was under investigation for fraud connected to the N-Power Programme. On June 8, 2016, President Muhammadu Buhari launched the N-Power programme to address the issues of youth unemployment and empowerment while also promoting social development.
Oladipo Daniel Oyebanjo, better known by his stage name D'Banj, was arrested and detained on Wednesday by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), investigating fraud related to the N-Power Programme.
