The City of Tshwane was notified by Rand Water on Thursday night that the Vlakfontein reservoir was sitting at 26% and had to close the outlet valve in order to allow it to recover overnight.

Rand Water spokesperson Makenosi Maroo said the restoration of power at Rand Water’s Mapleton Booster Station was completed.
The bulk water supplier's station was hit by a power outage on Friday, which affected the Vlakfontein Reservoir which supplies water to large parts of Gauteng.
Rand Water has confirmed that power has been restored to the Mapleton booster station.
