At home with ceramicist and jeweller Marama Mayrick
When we did the renovation, we didn't want to pretend like it wasn’t a 70s house. We got these fake beams put back on the ceiling. The builders were a bit perplexed by it. They were like: “We just got rid of all this gross 70s stuff.” Rian gave me full creative licence over the space which was just perfect. It’s all based around my aesthetic but also all different parts of New Zealand where I’ve lived. The nesting tables came from an op shop in Tauranga, that chair from a junk store in Levin, this couch came from Wellington.
