Silent Land review – an inconvenient death mars their holiday
How people dance always gives them away. Taking to the floor of a coastal Sardinia nitespot in Silent Land, the bourgeois Polish couple Adam (Dobromir Dymecki) and Anna (Agnieska Żuleweska) fling themselves around as dementedly as if red ants are swarming on their skin.Their manic grins are unnatural. When Anna finds herself dragged into the locals’ folk dance in the town square, the unease that tightens its grip on the pair in the film’s second half emerges on her face.
