UNL crime log, March 2021

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Police Department arrested UNL student Nick Frerichs for stealing a full-size cardboard cutout from Willa Cather Dining Complex on March 20, according to Marty Fehringer, assistant chief of UNLPD.
A student brought up to UNLPD officers while being contacted on an unrelated matter on March 27 that the student was the victim of unwanted sexual behavior, according to Fehringer, but they did not want to officially report it to the police.
He said UNLPD officers erred on the side of caution and documented the report, especially in case the student ever wanted to open the case.
On March 13 at Schramm Hall and The Village, there were two related reports from two UNL students about their vehicles being rummaged through, and one of the students reported that a small amount of change was taken, according to Fehringer. No suspects were determined for either case, so both cases are inactive, according to Fehringer.

The Finance Industry Development Council (FIDC) has urged the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to extend the one-time restructuring scheme for loans to MSMEs till March next year due to the severe second wave of Covid-19.
The RBI had, on February 11, 2020, allowed one-time restructuring of existing MSME advances, classified as "standard", without downgrade in the asset classification subject to certain additional provisioning and compliance with the conditions as prescribed in the said notification. The time limit for implementation of the said restructuring was till December 31, 2020.
In a letter to RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das, FIDC Director General Mahesh Thakkar said that owing to the severe second wave of Covid-19, the MSMEs, as also the retail and wholesale trader industry, have not been able to revive their economic activities and therefore, are in urgent need of support from the lenders.

The 200,000-ton MV Ever Given got diagonally stuck in the narrow but crucial global trade artery in a sandstorm on March 23, triggering a mammoth six-day-long effort to dislodge it.
Maritime data company Lloyd's List said the blockage of the canal by the vessel, longer than four football fields, held up an estimated $9.6 billion worth of cargo between Asia and Europe each day it was stuck.
