A £1MILLION project to rebuild the Splash Point sea defence wall in Watchet has been completed.

Digital signage screens could be installed on the rotundas in and around the main shopping area. Information will include details of local businesses, including start ups and 'hobby jobby' concerns. The screens will be interactive, with people able to tap in a shop name or type of business to get directions. They will also be able to download material to their phones and do click and collect shopping. A UNIQUE 225-year-old textile site in Wellington has been awarded a £348,420 grant by Historic England as part of the government’s Culture Recovery Fund. Tone Works is the well-preserved cloth finishing works of the Fox Brothers textile company, where the final stages in the production of fabrics such as serge were carried out. Fox Bothers was founded by Thomas Fox in 1796 and grew to dominate the textile industry in the South West, with Tone Works completing the finishing stages on cloth sent from across the country. A GREEN space beside what was once the largest woollen mill in the South West has been saved for the community in Wellington. Fox's Field has been bought by Somerset West and Taunton Council adjacent to Tonedale Mill following its designation as an Asset of Community Value. The site is seen as vital for the setting of the Grade II* listed mill complex, which the council is also acting to protect.
