The Greene County sheriffâs office now has a new K-9 officer on duty as well as a new K-9 vehicle. Sheriff Marcus Simms said the K-9 officer, an 18-month-year-old Belgian Malinois named Maugli, specializes in explosive detection. Funding for Maugli came from through the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA). Cpl. Nicholas Gustovich of the sheriffâs office will become the K-9 handler. Greene County Sheriff Marcus Simms announced he will run for another term in office. âAs a conservative Democrat, I will continue to have the sheriffâs office always put our citizensâ needs and rights first,â Simms said. This would be his first full four-year term.
