Politics. he s saying we need to have an open hearing of the facts. and number three, you hear his frustration in his inability to get back to the agenda that he want to do, whether it s moving health care or tax reform all of these other issues, that president trump s drama is bogging down congress and a real frustration to try to figure out if there s a way to move beyond this on concurrently on any policy while this plays out. i m really struck by the number of times he said dispassionate during that press conference right now. it makes you think that internally he s not feeling that. he s feeling a lot of pressure from members, perhaps maybe now from constituents. voters have been missing on this. so you do wonder if some of this is finally reaching the hill. and then you also hear him like margaret said talking about his frustration. saying we re working on other things in washington. we want the american public to know that. but he s saying it in such a way that you wonder if i ....

Very enormous consequences for our country. very, very quickly, congressman, i have ten seconds left, but do you see democrats actually being able to get any of this through? the numbers listen, republicans are in control of the house and the senate. what can democrats really do here? is this politics? yeah, i think the american people are going to demand that congress fulfill its oversight responsibility and republicans will be forced to do the right thing and support an independent commission, independent counsel and follow the facts where they lead. congressman, thank you for joining us from the hill. margaret, julie, michael, thank you very much for being with me on this busy hour. we have a lot more ahead. in a couple minutes from now, president trump is going to be speaking at the u.s. coast guard academy s commencement ceremony. the first time we will be hearing from him since details of that jim comey memo dropped. stick around right here on msnbc. much more after the ....
