The distribution was part of its restoration assistance to fisherfolk affected by Typhoons Ulysses, Quinta, and Rolly that hit most parts of Northern Luzon. The fingerling distribution which started during the observance of the 58th Fish Conservation Week in the third week of September will be replicated in other areas of the region to increase fish production and ensure that the "Masaganang Ani, Mataas na Kita" will be achieved.
