The University of Louisiana Monroe signed an Education Partnership Agreement (EPA) with The U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) on Monday, March 25, 2024, in Vicksburg, Miss. The EPA provides a framework to pursue cooperative educational collaborations between ULM and the ERDC, including the sharing of laboratory equipment and cooperative research programs.
On Friday, February 2, 2024, ULM hosted the KidWind Challenge, a renewable, wind energy learning experience sponsored by Pattern Energy Group and held at Bayou Pointe Event Center. Over 75 students from Cedar Creek, Neville, and Sterlington middle schools attended to participate in activities that impart knowledge and hands-on exposure to the science behind renewable energy, specifically wind power.
The University of Louisiana Monroe is celebrating a number of enrollment increases in key areas at the beginning of the 2023-2024 academic year. The university saw a 4% increase in First Time Freshmen, a 4% increase in transfer students, and a 10% increase in Dual Enrollment students. Overall enrollment is up 62 total students compared to fall 2022. The ULM Honors Program is celebrating an overall enrollment increase of 38%. A total of 132 freshmen joined the program this year, making it the largest ever freshman class for the program.
