TWO musicical maestros used lockdown to fine tune their talents - then scooped awards for their polished performances. Cornet player Lucy McAlees and bass trombonist Mark Gammon triumphed in their respective classes in Riverside Youth Band's fourth annual solo competition. The duo excelled in the intermediate and senior classes and impressed judges in the contest, which could not be held in-person due to Covid-19.
