Four members of a Bradenton family behind a "church" that sold bleach as a miracle medical cure for COVID-19 were found guilty on federal charges Wednesday in Miami.

Prosecutor says family ‘created a fake church to make it harder for the Food and Drug Administration and government to stop them from selling snake oil’

Four members of a Florida family were convicted Wednesday of selling a toxic industrial bleach as a fake COVID-19 cure through their online church. A federal jury in Miami found Mark Grenon, 65, and his sons, 37-year-old Jonathan, 35-year-old Joseph and 29-year-old Jordan, guilty of conspiring to defraud the United States and deliver misbranded drugs, according to court records. That charge carries up to five years in prison. Their sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 6.

A Florida man and three of his sons who duped consumers into purchasing more than $1 million worth of a "Miracle Mineral Solution" through a fake online church to cure ailments including COVID-19 and cancer that was nothing more than a poisonous "powerful bleach" when ingested, were convicted on federal fraud charges Wednesday.

Florida's Mark Grenon and his sons had claimed that their Miracle Mineral Solution could treat everything from Alzheimer's to autism.
