As the S&P 500 continues to hit fresh milestones with a first-ever break above the 5,000 level, its valuation is reaching new heights as well.
Wall Street closed out its latest winning week with another milestone, the S&P 500's first close above 5,000.
The S&P 500 rose 0.6% and finished a day above the 5,000 level for the first time. It’s the 10th record in less than a month for the index.
Such milestones don’t carry much weight for a market that’s supposed to move on hard data. But they can juice the spirits of a market that can also be prone to emotional moves.
