COVID-19 vaccine coming soon to Marion County long-term care facilities

The first batch of COVID-19 vaccines should arrive soon in Marion County and officials expect that frontline health care workers, as well as long-term care residents and staff, will begin receiving them next week. Immunizing those two groups will take about two to three weeks and then two different vaccines should become available for other groups by mid-January.  Marion County has seen a surge in cases and deaths, especially in long-term care facilities. Data shows that 159 of Marion County's 428 deaths are long-term care related.
