Logan County Sheriff asks Governor to veto HB3653 Lincoln Courier Logan County Sheriff Mark Landers sent a letter to Governor Pritzker asking him to veto HB 3653 due to the impact it will have on police officers currently working in the field. Landers said he wrote the letter due to the lack of having a voice in the bill's final provision. “The bill was passed through the General Assembly in the early morning hours of January 13, 2021. The speed in which the bill was presented and ultimately passed provided little to no opportunity for transparency or input," wrote Landers in his letter.
