Since last year, Facebook groups created to promote local restaurants have been doing so with great success. When power outages made food and heat hard to come by, they helped with that too. Just days after restaurants were ordered to close in March last year, Vu Ly and Tran Loh started the private group Asian Grub in DFDUB (DFW) with a mission to help Asian mom and pop restaurants survive the pandemic. Agri-food businesses join forces to deliver 100 Christmas dinners to Co. Down town It was a true field-to-fork effort as businesses from right across the agri-food chain joined forces to provide Christmas dinner for more than 100 local people in one small town on the shores of Strangford Lough. The effort was lead by Comber Chamber of Commerce with help from Comber Rotary Club and local restauranteur Jim Mulholland.
