Weather and travel warnings remain in place for icy conditions across much of England and Scotland after the widespread snowfall of recent days. The Met Office has a yellow warning concerning ice in place for all of Scotland and for England, with the exception of the south-west. It warns that with falls of rain, sleet and snow dying out, there is a risk of icy surfaces and “difficult” travel conditions. Services across Bradford ground to a halt as the snow fell throughout the district today. A total of 152 district schools were closed or partially closed due to the wintry downpour.
