SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) — Three people died and two others were injured when an SUV struck a deer along the Indiana Toll Road and crashed into an oncoming pickup truck, police said.

Jane Beecher, 57, from Harrisburg was killed in the crash along with Mark Pelini, 31, and Jillian Marian, 31, both from Ohio. Two others were injuried.

The crash happened just before 8 p.m. when a westbound vehicle struck a deer, which caused it to cross the center and collide with an eastbound truck, according to Indiana State Police.
