Oklahoma City council runoffs set Tuesday in west-side wards

Oklahoman When new members are seated April 13, three of the nine Oklahoma City Council members will be women for the first time in nearly 20 years. Voters will choose Tuesday between Barbara Young and Jessica Martinez-Brooks in Ward 3. The winner will be the first woman to represent the southwest-side ward. In the northwest side's Ward 1 runoff, voters will choose between Shay Varnell and Bradley Carter. Of note: Martinez-Brooks sits on the Water Utilities Trust.
