Settembre tells the story of 14-year-old Maria (the young
Margherita Rebeggiani, who is already a star of the short film genre) who comes to the attention of Cristian, a boy sheâs always had a crush on, following the school summer holidays. Via Sergio, the girlâs classmate, Cristian asks Maria if sheâd like to go to bed with him. Itâs an abrupt and unromantic proposition, but she straight away says yes, and then immediately slips into panic mode because she doesnât know where to begin. When Sergio realises Maria is struggling, he offers to help her. They spend an entire afternoon together, discovering their compatibility for the very first time.

Italy’s expanding production company Groenlandia — the shingle behind ITV’s “Romulus” skein and recent Netflix Italian original film “The Incredible Story of Rose Island” — is launching a groundbreaking new unit dedicated to women directors and writers.
Called Lynn, the new female-driven label is a first for Italy. They have partnered on a feature film with Amazon Studios and on another movie with RAI Cinema.

Projects in various stages in the Lynn pipeline comprise romantic comedy “Blackout Love” (pictured), toplining rising Italian star Anna Foglietta, who served as master of ceremonies at the 2020 Venice Film Festival.
