A federal appeals court on Wednesday ordered Apple to halt the US sale of its latest smartwatch models in a feud over patents with health company Masimo.The ban on certain Apple smartwatch models will come into effect Thursday as the iPhone juggernaut is ordered to await the outcome of its appeal.

Uncertainty looms over Apple’s two new watches. After being banned once in the US, the Apple Watch Series 9 and Watch Ultra 2 are currently on sale at the mercy of an Appeals Court, which granted a temporary hold on the import ban put by the US ITC. But, the appeals period is ending, and Apple needs to find a permanent fix – removing the blood oxygen feature, which has been the root cause of all this, on the new units of these watches sold in the US.
