Huawei Technologies held a product launch event, where it unveiled its new tablet called the MatePad Pro 13.2 and announced the roll-out of a new ultra high-end brand called 'Ultimate Design', which includes a Mate 60 RS smartphone and a watch. While details about the Mate 60 smartphone series were not discussed, users and analysts have praised the Mate 60 Pro for its Chinese-made chip and 5G capabilities.

The company expects new smartphone shipments for 2023 to reach at least 40 million units, the report said.

China's Huawei Technologies on Friday started presales for its Mate 60 Pro+ smartphone, adding a new version to a series that has captured global attention for revealing the Chinese tech firm's success in beating back against U.S. sanctions.

Huawei's new Mate 60 series smartphones, including the Mate 60 and Mate 60 Pro, have garnered global attention for their satellite communication capabilities. The phones are powered by a Kirin 9000s chip made by Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corp (SMIC) and contain components from SK Hynix and other Chinese suppliers.
