Todd Lewis has been farming south of Gray Sask. for the last 45 years and over his time in the field, he has seen his share of dry conditions.
According to this week’s crop report, 95 per cent of harvest is finished province wide, ahead of the five-year average of 84 per cent.
'We are seeing a lot of crop conditions deteriorate across the province,' said Matthew Struthers, provincial cereal crop specialist. 'Not many of the crops are rated excellent.'
Saskatchewan released its weekly crop report with most topsoil receiving enough rainfall, though farmers outside of those areas are worried their crops won't rebound from the dry heat.
